Merida
Prediction markets for personal opinions — built in six hours at a University of Birmingham hackathon.
View project →Merida is a prediction markets platform built around a simple premise: you should be able to put conviction behind your opinions, not just state them.
Users share beliefs, make predictions on outcomes they care about, and earn rewards for accuracy. The mechanic forces a kind of epistemic honesty that normal opinion-sharing doesn’t — it’s easy to hold a strong view when there’s nothing at stake.
Built entirely in TypeScript in six hours at a University of Birmingham hackathon in March 2026. More details once I get results.
